This weekends games look to be tough and there aren't to many slam dunk picks to be made. Of course I'd love to get off to a good start and I think I got some pretty solid picks.
NCAA Picks-
1. UConn -6.5 over Temple- I'm hoping the UConn Huskies can live up to it's hype and take one here. One touchdown isn't to much to ask for on a mediocre team like Temple.
Temple 30 UConn 16 L
2. Alabama -24 over Duke- I know that seems like a crazy amount of points to be giving up but Alabama really is that good. They beat a #18 Penn State team last week by 21 points, I'm almost certain they can put up one more FG on a very poor team like Duke. Roll Tide.
Alabama 62 Duke 13 W
NFL Picks-
1. Vikings -5.5 over Dolphins- Miami is a well rounded team but they may be a little outmatched in this one. Brett Favre and the Vikings are coming off a loss to the defending Super Bowl Champs New Orleans Saints and are hungry for a win. They can't afford to start off the season 0-2 and have all the reporters around the globe asking the same question '' What's wrong, Brett.'' Vikings at home take this one.
Dolphins 14 Vikings 10 L
2. Eagles -6 over Lions- It is very rare when I bet against a home underdog, but I just don't see Detroit having much of a chance. Starting QB Matthew Stafford is sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks with a shoulder injury, which basically leads them to just a running game. Even with Eagles QB Kevin Kolb being doubtful, I still think Vick will be able to fill in well enough to cover this spread.
Eagles 35 Lions 32 L
Lock of the Week
Texas -3 over Texas Tech- Tommy Tuberville and the Texas Tech Red Raiders have their hands full when the Longhorns stampede into town Saturday night. Look to see a very high scoring game and Texas being on top when it is all said and done.
Texas 24 Texas Tech 14 W
